Rye Castle is a three story 13th Century quatrefoil plan tower. It is located in the centre of the town overlooking the River Rother. The tower is the last intact part of the town's wall and has been used as the town hall, prison and museum. Ypres Tower, as it is also known, was built by Peter de Savoy in the mid-13th Century.
